About Hypnotherapy

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” – Carl Jung

Hypnotherapy is a powerful and gentle therapeutic practice that opens a bridge between the conscious mind and the subconscious—the place where beliefs, memories, emotions, and patterns quietly shape our daily lives. Through guided relaxation and focused intention, hypnotherapy allows you to explore this deeper inner world with clarity, compassion, and curiosity.

Inspired by the teachings of Carl Jung, we understand the subconscious not as a shadow to be feared, but as a sacred source of healing, guidance, and truth. Jung believed that within each of us is a blueprint for wholeness—and that by working with the unconscious, we begin the process of individuation, the journey toward becoming our true and integrated self.

At Mindflow Space, hypnotherapy is not about suggestion alone. It is about connection. It is about gently uncovering what already lives within you—your resilience, your wisdom, your healing—and helping it rise to the surface.

A Brief History of Hypnotherapy

The roots of hypnotherapy reach far into human history. Ancient cultures in Egypt, Greece, and India used trance-like rituals for healing and spiritual initiation. However, the modern development of hypnosis began in the 18th century with Franz Anton Mesmer, whose work gave rise to the term “mesmerism.”

In the 19th century, physicians such as James Braid in Britain redefined hypnosis as a psychological phenomenon, and not a form of magnetism. Later, pioneers like Jean-Martin Charcot and Pierre Janet used hypnosis in clinical settings for treating hysteria and trauma.

Sigmund Freud, who studied under Charcot, initially explored hypnosis in psychoanalysis before turning toward free association. But it was Milton H. Erickson in the 20th century who revolutionized the field with a more permissive, client-centered approach, blending storytelling, metaphor, and deep subconscious work.

Today, hypnotherapy is an evidence-supported and integrative practice used around the world by trained professionals. It is often combined with modern modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mind-body medicine, and Jungian depth psychology.
